Job Summary:
The Production Manager leads the production team and oversees and coordinates all production operations to ensure products are produced efficiently, on time, and to our quality standards. This role involves managing production schedules, production workforce, equipment, materials, and safety compliance while driving continuous improvement across production processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Control and Planning
· Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production plans to meet customer demand (WO scheduling, Report Generation).
· Monitor production performance and adjust schedules as needed to meet targets (WO Summary review, Time Entry, Routing maintenance).
· Coordinate with purchasing, maintenance, and inventory teams to ensure smooth material and product flow.
· Support change request activities (initiate, approve, implement).
· Support customer specific requirements (packaging, special labelling).
· Tooling Management (receiving tools, identification and labelling, end of life process).
· Customer advocate – work with Customer Service to ensure products are produced on time and meet all customer expectations.
2. Team Leadership
· Take ownership of the production team and all production and quality-related activities performed by the team.
· Inspire, train, and motivate production staff to consistently achieve production and quality performance goals.
· Assess and assist in the improvement of production staff capabilities and potential.
· Lead the team by example and provide mentorship to the production staff leaders.
· Work with HR to recruit and hire production staff.
· Assign duties and responsibilities to supervisors and operators.
· Document individual performance shortcomings and execute progressive discipline where necessary to improve employee performance.
· Objectively evaluate employee performance, and document performance using our performance evaluation system.
· Monitor and maintain high standards of punctuality and attendance (ADP – PTO approval).
· Develop retention strategies to maintain high levels of employee satisfaction and worker retention
3. New Product & New Process Introduction
· Work closely with Production Engineering in the development and implementation of new products, machines, and processes.
· Work with production team in the development of new parts and processes to satisfy customer requirements.
· Provide feedback to engineering and customer service regarding issues in new part/new product development.
4. Quality & Continuous Improvement
· Ensure all production activities comply with our quality system/standards and customer specifications.
· Work closely with the Quality Department to identify and resolve quality issues.
· Drive process improvement activities and initiatives
· Interact with customer (Quality & Engineering) to resolve quality and product/process issues.
5. Safety & Compliance
· Promote a safety-first culture through regular inspections, training, and incident reporting.
· Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations (HSE).
6. Reporting & Analysis
· Generate and present monthly and annual reports on key metrics (KPIs) such as work order performance, labor variances, material variances, headcount, OT hours.
· Analyze production data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
· Education: Bachelor’s degree
· Experience: Minimum 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing operations or similar, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
· Technical Skills:
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and scheduling tools.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems
Focus on continuous improvement.

The position offers:
- Base salary in the 130-150k range
- Quarterly Profit Sharing = 3-4 weeks of base pay / 12-15 weeks of annual bonus pay

The role is responsible for the “hands- on” Production Floor Management of a Manufacturing & Converting facility with a strong focus on both mechanical aptitude, problem solving, conflict resolution, strong communication leadership, and continuous improvement.
There are ~ 70 direct reports. The facility runs 5 days a week for 8-10 hours per day.
