The Project Engineer – Advanced, is responsible for working both independently and part of a team on assigned projects. Core areas of responsibility include project management, research and design, ERP configurations, product launch, and day-to-day manufacturing support. Excellent team synergy as well as high attention to detail are a must.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Follow project through production for quality, workmanship and compliance to specifications
  • Sustain project involvement through all phases of production.
  • Assist sales with new application support (phone, e-mail, in person)
  • Manage the assigned project list for all development or product launch activities
  • Assist quoting department with technical details
  • Work with other engineering team members to establish production manufacturing process
  • Creation of Bill of Material and Methods of Manufacturing in the Kinetic ERP system
  • Design and order needed manufacturing machine tooling
  • Write work instructions for manufacturing personnel
  • Write material specifications for utilization in both the purchasing and quality departments
  • Assist quality department with quality planning devices and inspection criteria
  • Lead design verification and process validation activities.
  • Participate in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process FMEA.
  • Prepare engineering change documentation and support revision control.
  • Assist with troubleshooting on the manufacturing floor
  • Maintain complete project documentation throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree preferred
  • 5+ years of converting experience (die-cutting, lamination, extrusion, adhesive coating)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and lean principles
  • Experienced in project management
  • Knowledge of quality systems including ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor Kinetic preferred).
  • SolidWorks, Draftsite Competency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
