Position Summary:
The Field Service Mechanical Technician / Machine Assembler & Installer joins the manufacturing team and becomes an integral part of operations. In this role, you will perform assembly tasks as needed to prepare equipment for installation, install and commission label applicator systems, and identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and efficiency. The label applicator equipment is installed onto customers’ and OEMs’ vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) machines.
Note: This is not an IT or IT technician position.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Installation and Commissioning
Install, commission, and support label applicator systems at customer facilities.
Travel domestically and internationally as required.
Test, validate, and prepare equipment for shipment, and verify proper operation following installation.
Assist with production and machine assembly activities as needed.
Troubleshooting and Technical Support
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
Read and interpret engineering, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics.
Assist with electrical wiring and system integration.
Provide technical support and customer training.
Collaboration, Quality, and Continuous Improvement
Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve field issues.
Support continuous improvement initiatives based on field feedback.
Conduct quality inspections and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience in manufacturing, assembly, field service, or a related technical field, with strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills.
Electrical and mechanical knowledge, along with basic PLC knowledge, including wiring, troubleshooting, and an understanding of automation systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
Experience installing or servicing packaging or automation equipment is preferred.
Ability to handle a physical workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Valid driver’s license and passport required, with the ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
