The job is responsible for managing all production shift activities along with ensuring operating and health/safety policies. Troubleshooting production issues, scheduling shifts, ensuring quality of the products, and fulfilling customer orders are the major job functions. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Chemical Operations, Batching, Mixing, or Polymers manufacturing experience is required. The person must have the capability to work different shift schedules in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Knowledge of ISO 9000 is helpful but not mandatory. The products are value added materials which are sold to converters, and consumer companies for labeling and packaging. Some of the responsibilities are: Oversees all activities related to procurement of strategic raw materials (paper, coatings/chemicals, film) from intent to purchase through delivery. Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability, and prepares market analysis reports. Develops vendor quality evaluation system to measure/track vendor performance. Develops/implements centralized NCMR (Non Conformance Material Reports) to ensure restitution for damage claims. Develops current suppliers to meet improved quality/price/delivery demands while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct. Works closely with R&D in the development of alternative substrates including alternative suppliers.

Business Development Manager Blown Film Minnesota #3785
Overall responsibility to develop, and enhance the business that utilizes Company's blown film capability. Provide expertise and manage the technical aspects of the blown film line. Work with customer base to develop products utilizing the unique blown film capabilities of applying silicone to filmic substrates. Drive cost reduction initiatives by analyzing silicone coating processes and developing new or reconfigured products, processes, and/or raw materials that meet customer specifications yet lower the costs of manufacturing. BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields of study or the equivalent of such in job experience Experience: Minimum of 5 years in blown film manufacturing technologies and/or filmic substrates. Other: Six Sigma Quality Control Certificate, or a good understanding of quality procedures and their implementation. Supervisory – No direct reports – Indirect all blown film manufacturing personnel Develop products and manufacturing capability to meet the Company’s internal needs for blown film. Work with project engineering and plant management to provide expertise for the installation of a blown film line in suburbs of Minneapolis. Provide technological leadership to manufacturing in areas that improve processes and/or expand capacity. Assist with the selection of resin suppliers and pricing negotiations with all resin vendors.Research the market and meet with prospective customers to develop products that will utilize the capability of applying silicone to blown film substrates. Provide leadership in the justification process for future expansion of Company’s blown film capabilities and/or capacity.
